The Stelgiz Saddlery Company was established by Antoine Stelgiz in 1870 in town of Richmond, Texas In the early years Antoine Stelgiz moved the new Stelgiz Saddlery Company to Brenham, Texas in 1876 and he remained there until 1893 as a saddle maker.  In 1893 Antoine Stelgiz died and his family moved the business to Houston, Texas.  The Company remained a family business for another century seeing five generations of the Stelgiz Family retaining ownership.  Although as I last checked they were only making saddles by custom order and they no longer carried a line of saddles, over the years they have become more of a Western Apparel Company
